Having a class description is important because:
It provides clarity – People know what the Class is about and what to expect.
It helps with decisions – Parents and students can see if the Class is right for them.
It boosts enrollment – A well-written description makes the Class more appealing.
It sets expectations – Outlines what will be taught and any requirements.
It improves searchability – Helps people find your Class online.
It reduces questions – Answers common concerns upfront.
Follow these steps to create a Class Description.
Step 1 - Class Editor
Head to the Classes page and click on the name of the Class you want to add a Class Description to. On the far right will be a pencil icon where you can edit the Class:
Step 2 - Add Description
The editing screen will pop up. Just scroll down and check the box next to the Add Class description as shown below:
Add Text
You can add a description of your Class, a list of materials, or anything else your students need to know. You can also format the wording any way you want. Here is an example:
Add Images, Videos, Etc.
You can also add an image, a video, or a table. To add an image, click on the image icon within the Advanced settings.
NOTE: The image has to be hosted somewhere for you to add it (Enrollsy does not host images, so you are not allowed to download images), such as Dropbox. There are also some free image hosting websites such as Bublup and ImgBB.
Just be sure to use the direct link. For videos, you can use the link or embed code.
Open the image and right-click. Click "Copy Image Address" and paste it into the "Source" box. A size should pop up under "width" and "height." Adjust this to fit the space. (NOTE: If the size does not show up, the source is incorrect.)
Where Customers See Class Descriptions
Class descriptions are visible to your customers in the following places:
Customer Portal
On the "My Account" page on the Enrollment Card under "Details."
Enroll Form
If your Programs allow for "Class selection," customers will see the Class Description under "Details" in the Class selection window.
Enrollment Confirmation Emails
On the emails customers receive after enrollment, the Class Description is listed under the "Classes" section and underneath the Class name, time, and Instructor name(s).
Troubleshooting Class Descriptions in Emails
Switch to Classes Enrollment Model: The Simple Enrollment Model does not allow the association of a description to an enrollment as no Class is being selected at enrollment (and if there are multiple Classes in the Simple Model Program. If possible, use the Classes Enrollment Model, allowing families to select a class during checkout. This ensures class descriptions will be included.
Include Class Details in Welcome Message or Terms: Add vital class information in the enrollment confirmation’s Welcome Message or Terms for an alternative way of communicating them.
Optimize Program Structure: If you need to use the Simple Enrollment Model, set Programs to include only a single Class and enable the "auto-assign enrollments" setting on the My Company page, ensuring descriptions appear in emails.
