Enrollsy utilizes the services of Twilio for sending and receiving SMS messages. SMS is a regulated industry and Carriers require all software applications sending SMS messages to personal phone numbers (also known as A2P = Application-to-Person Software) to register each customer as a brand. If you want to use SMS texting, please have one person from your company fill out this form (if this has not yet been done).

Some important information concerning SMS messages:

  • Default Cell Phone Fields - The default "cell phone" fields on the Enroll Form under the Account Information section must be marked "visible" in order for SMS texting to work. We use these fields for SMS texting. You cannot add a custom cell phone field that will work with SMS.

  • SMS Pricing - You get a set number of texts each month, then each additional message costs 1.5¢. Standard limits are as follows:

    • Starter Plans - 500 messages per month

    • Pro Plans - 1,000 messages per month

    • Enterprise Plans - 2,000 messages per month

  • Bulk Texting - Bulk texts are limited to 160 characters; longer messages trigger a warning about multiple billable segments per recipient that you must approve.

  • Messages Report - You can view the number of messages sent this month and last month on the Reports page under “Messages.”

  • Prevent Blocking - There are some best practices you can use to prevent SMS texts from being blocked by our SMS provider. See this article for those practices.

  • How Texts are Received - All users all receive SMS texts through their personal messenger app. Admin users can also view texts in their personal notification center and on each customer’s account. Instructors can also view texts on the instructor portal on the Activity and Check In/Out pages (SMS icon).

  • Group Texts - All messages sent to a group are received as private messages, not group messages.

  • SMS Deletion - All SMS notifications are deleted after 60 days

  • SMS Opt-In - All customers are required to agree to the SMS compliance agreement when they first enroll. They are sent an opt-in text after enrollment is completed.

  • SMS Opt-Out - Customers can opt out of SMS texts by replying “stop” or another standard word to a message. See this article for more information on opting out and how to keep track of them.

  • SMS Transparency - Text messaging is 100% transparent, which means all text messages, no matter who sends them, are fully visible to all users in the account’s message history.

  • Admin to Instructor Messaging - Please see this support article for how admin users/instructors can text each other.

  • SMS Best Practices - See this article for some best practice tips
