How to Import Accounts into Enrollsy

Add accounts in bulk by uploading a CSV file instead of entering them one at a time

Written by Serena Edwards

Before You Start

  • Save your file as a CSV (comma-separated values) file.

  • Make sure every row has an email address. If a row doesn't have one, the import will fail.

Step 1 — Open the Import Page

From the Enroll page, click Import in the top navigation menu.

Step 2 — Upload Your CSV File

  • Click Select CSV File.

  • Find the file on your computer and click Open.

  • Read the Import File Hints so your information uploads correctly.

  • Click Continue.

NOTE: Ensure every row in your file has an email address, or the import will fail.

Step 3 — Map Your Columns

This screen shows two lists:

  • CSV Columns — the column names from your file

  • Enroll Form Fields — the matching fields in Enrollsy

Drag each field from Enroll Form Fields onto the CSV column it matches. Once a field is placed, it disappears from the Enroll Form Fields list. When every column is mapped, click Continue.

Step 4 — Clean Up Your Data

Check the highlighted rows and exclude any that shouldn't be imported.

  • Yellow rows — The primary account holder's email address is already in use. The import will update that existing account with the new data.

  • Red rows — Required information is missing, and the import will fail for those rows.

If more than one enrollee on the same account has the same name, you'll see a warning. This can cause problems with the import.

To exclude a row:

  • Check the box next to the row.

  • Click Exclude.

When you're done, click Continue.

Step 5 — Add Enrollees to a Program or Class

  • Check the boxes next to the enrollees you want to add, or check the top box to select all of them.

  • Click +Program/Class.

  • Choose the enrollment period, program or class.

Every enrollee needs a program or class. To see every row, change Rows per page at the bottom of the table. If you miss any rows, you'll see an error message.

Step 6 — Include Enrollments in Zapier (Optional)

If you use the New Enrollment Trigger in Zapier, check the box at the bottom of the page. This sends the imported enrollments to Zapier.

Click Submit to finish, or click Go Back to make changes.

Step 7 — Review Your Upload Results

A pop-up window shows your upload results. It may include any of these:

  • A message that the import was successful

  • How many accounts were updated because they were already in Enrollsy

  • How many new accounts were imported

  • Error messages for rows that weren't imported

Click the down arrow next to any result to see the email addresses that were updated, imported or not imported.

From here, you can:

  • Click View Imported Data to go to the Classes page where you added the enrollments.

  • Click Import Again to start a new import.

Troubleshooting Import Errors

If you need to start over:

  • Click Go Back at the bottom of the window. Don't refresh the page or use your browser's back button.

  • When you reach the mapping step, click Cancel.

  • Fix your CSV file and upload it again.

To find out what caused an error:

  • Right-click the page and select Inspect.

  • Click the Console tab.

  • Look for errors in red. Most errors happen when CSV columns and enroll form fields don't match in Step 3.

If your column mappings are stuck or keep coming back wrong:

  • Right-click the page and select Inspect.

  • Click the Application tab.

  • Under Storage, expand Local Storage and click https://app.enrollsy.com.

  • Right-click the IMPORT_COLUMN_MAPPING key and select Delete.

  • Close the Inspect window and try the import again.
