The Browse Feature: Let Customers Preview Programs Before They Enroll

A complete guide to setting up, publishing, and customizing the Browse page — and what your customers will see when they visit it

Written by Serena Edwards

Overview

Browse is a public-facing page that lets prospective customers explore your Programs and Classes before they commit to enrolling. Share the Browse link on your website or in marketing emails, and customers can filter by Location, Enrollment Period, and Program — then enroll directly from the same page when they're ready.

Here's an example of how the Browse feature looks (on a test company):

Admin Setup & Sections

How do I get the Program Browse feature?

Browse is included with your Enrollsy account at no additional cost, and it's enabled by default for most companies. You can access the Browse feature by selecting Enroll on the left menu. There is also a link to your Program Browse on the My Company page. You can also publish and unpublish the link right there.

If you don't see it under Enroll in the left menu, contact Enrollsy support to have it unlocked.

What are the sections of the Program Browse feature?

Admins can view the Browse feature by selecting "Enroll" in the left menu bar. Then select "Browse" on the tab.

It is important for Admin users to know and understand the different "sections" of the new Browse feature:

Publish/Unpublish

The top pink bar has the publish/unpublish button. Click it to the open eye to publish. It will turn blue. To unpublish the Browse page, click the crossed-out eye icon. See the How to publish/unpublish Program Browse for more details.

Hide Cost

You can hide the pricing on the Browse page by toggling on the switch "Hide Cost." This is helpful when you don't want the total cost to scare away your customers.

Filters

This is the first step for Customers. They choose the Location, Enrollment Period, and Program Name (or your FIRST Program option). These filters consist of your customized Program Options. See this article for more information about Program Options and how they work in creating Programs.

If they stop at the Enrollment Period, ALL the published Programs in that Enrollment Period will show. If they filter further to a specific Program, they will only see that particular Program's information.

Program Option 1 Image

Admin users can add an Image to their FIRST Program Option (which is typically "Program Name" or something similar). An image can be added to ALL selections under the first Program Option. This is shown at the top of the Program information (see example below). NOTE: All images will be uploaded as a square image (this cannot be customized at this time). See this article for specific steps to add images.

Program Option 1 Program Description

You can also add a description of your Program here using a rich text editor, where you can edit text and add links, images, or tables. A description can be added to ALL selections under the first Program Option. This shows the Program information at the top (beside the image, if applicable). See this article for steps to adding a Program description.

Location & Map

This section will show if your Location has an address. It will have the Location details as well as a Google map. (To remove this map, click the "Hide map" switch at the top of the page, which will hide the map AND Location for every Program and Class on the Browse page.).

Program Options

This section houses the Program Options for each of your Programs. In the example below, the Program Options for this Program (Private Tutoring) are Program Name and Schedule. This section also includes the following information about the Program (if this information is entered):

  • Program Start Date

  • Program End Date

  • Days the Program Runs

  • Cost (total cost) - the cost can be hidden by toggling on the "hide cost" switch at the top of the page

  • Payment Plans (this will show even if you only have pay-in-full options)

Classes

This section contains all the Classes within that Program. The information that can be included in this section:

  • Class Name

  • Instructor Name (if added)

  • Instructor Bio (if added)

  • Image and Description (if added)

  • Class Start Date (if applicable)

  • Class End Date (if applicable)

  • Class Start Time (if applicable)

  • Class End Time (if applicable)

  • Cost - the cost can be hidden by toggling on the "hide cost" switch at the top of the page

  • Payment Plan (this will show even if you only have pay-in-full options)

  • Capacity of Class (spaces LEFT or if the Class is full)

  • Waitlist button (if a Waitlist has been added to the Class)

  • Enroll button (if there are spaces available)

Filter & Sort Classes

If the Program is set up as a Class Enrollment Model, Admin users and Customers can filter and sort the Classes. Filter by selecting the "Filters" button. A window will pop up with one or more of the following information you can filter by:

  • Class Calendar Dates (start date and end date)

  • Instructor (if the instructor name has been added to the Class)

  • Class name

Click the "Sort" button to sort the list of Classes by Name, Time, or Date.

NOTE: When the Browse page is first clicked on, a filter is added for the present day. This will filter out any Programs or Classes with dates in the past. If this filter is cleared or changed, past Classes can show.

Viewing Class Spaces Remaining

To see how many spaces are left in a Class, follow these steps:

Step 1 - Filter on Browse Page

Head to the Browse page. Filter on the left side to the Location, Enrollment Period, and Program Name OR stop at the Enrollment Period to see all the Programs within it.

Step 2 - Scroll to Class

Scroll to the Class. A number will show at the bottom left of the Class box if there are five spaces left or fewer. The number of spaces left (or capacity) will show in either green or red with a refresh icon.

Capacity

26-75% full

Green number

76-99% full

100% full

"Full" in red

Step 3 - Refresh to Update

To view the number of spaces in real-time, simply click the refresh icon beside the capacity to update it.

Private Programs

If any of your Program are private (the setting "make private" is turned on), then they will not show on the Browse page unless you turn on the setting "Show on Browse page" in the Program Advanced settings.

With that setting turned on, Private Programs and their Classes will be displayed on the Browse page, but these offerings will not display an "Enroll Now" button or capacities. In order for anyone to enroll, they will still need the private enrollment link. See this article for how to generate a private enrollment link.

NOTE: This settings cannot be turned on in bulk; it must be turned on on individual Programs.

Make Sure Browse Page is Viewable

To make sure your Browse page is viewable for your customers, be sure to do the following:

Publish the Browse page

First, you'll need to make sure you have published the Browse page. Click the eye icon on the far right to publish the page.

Publish Enrollment Period(s)

Second, you'll need to make sure your Enrollment Period(s) are published. The Programs on the Browse page will not be viewable if the Enrollment Period is not published.

⚠️ Heads up — Open Enrollment behavior: The Enroll button only appears on the Browse page when the Enrollment Period is published. If you use Open Enrollment, double-check that the period is published before sharing your Browse link.
