NOTE: See How SMS Texting Works for important information about texting.
Admins send and receive all text messages inside the Enrollsy app. You can read and answer texts in your Notification Center or on a customer's account. You can also text one account at a time or send group texts from the Enrollees Table, Classes page, and Reports page.
Turn On Text Message Notifications
Turn on SMS notifications first so that customer texts show up in your Notification Center. If you haven't set up your Notification Center yet, see How to Set Up the Admin Notification Center.
Open your Notification Settings
Scroll down to SMS
Check the box beside Notifications
View and Respond to Texts in the Notification Center
When you have unread texts, a red number appears on the bell icon in the upper-right corner.
Click the bell icon to open the Notification Center
Find new texts on the Unread tab
Click Respond to reply, or click Dismiss to mark the text as read
Texts you've read are on the Dismissed tab. From there, you can click Respond to reply or Mark as unread to move a text back to Unread.
NOTE: Only texts that arrive after you set up your Notification Center appear here. Instructors get their texts in the Enrollsy app or the Instructor Portal instead.
Texts From Unknown Senders
A text is labeled sender unknown when its phone number doesn't belong to any Customer in Enrollsy. This happens most often with:
Instructors who don't have a Customer account with the same phone number
Leads on the Submissions page (you can also text Leads directly from that page)
NOTE: To show an Instructor's name on their texts, set up a Customer account for them with the same phone number. See How Admin Can Create Their Own Instructor and/or Customer Account.
Text a Customer From Their Account
Use a customer's Billing or Account tab to see their full text history and send them a new message.
Open the customer's account and go to the Billing or Account tab
Click the SMS button in the upper-right corner
Choose a conversation to open:
The Primary Account Holder's name to see and continue that conversation
The Secondary Account Holder's name to see and continue that conversation
Send to Both to send a new text to both Account Holders
A text window opens with the full history of messages sent to that phone number. Type your message to reply.
Send Group Texts
You can send group texts to Primary Account Holders, or to both Primary and Secondary Account Holders, from these pages:
Reports > A/R Payments
To send a group text:
Go to the page you want to text from. On the Enrollees Table, choose a location or All Locations first
Check the top box to select everyone, or check the boxes beside individual recipients
Click the SMS button
Choose Primary Account Holder to text only Primary Account Holders, or Both to text Primary and Secondary Account Holders
Check the total recipients and the list of names in the window that opens
Write your message in the Message box and send it

NOTE: If the recipient count is lower than the number of accounts you selected, at least one account is missing a cell phone number or has one in the wrong format.
Classes Page
On the Classes page, select Enrollees in a class and click the SMS icon to see the same Account Holder options.
A/R Aging Report — Bulk Messaging Only
On the Reports page, the A/R Aging report only lets you text all accounts at one time, either to the Primary Account Holder or to both Account Holders. To text one account at a time, use the A/R Payments report.
Text Customers From the Instructor Portal
Admins who also have an Instructor profile can text customers from the Activities page in the Instructor Portal. To set one up, see How Admin Can Create Their Own Instructor and/or Customer Account.
Open the Instructor Portal and go to Activities
Click the SMS button beside an Enrollee
Choose the Primary Account Holder or the Secondary Account Holder
Character Limits and Pricing
Note: Bulk texts are limited to 160 characters. Our SMS provider sets this limit, so we can't change it. If your message is longer than 160 characters, Enrollsy warns you that each recipient will get several billable message segments, and you have to approve that before the text sends.
After you use the text messages included in your billing plan, each message costs 1.5¢. See About Text Message Pricing for details.
